I bought new door rubber for my '54 and after waiting over a month, I still couldn't close my doors properly. A VERY experienced pro told me to order rubber for a '51 and install that ... I did, and BINGO! My doors are lined up perfectly, they seal perfectly, and I can close them without going insane, slamming them shut.

I don't get it -- since the cabs are the same, WHY do you sell different door rubber for a '54 as compared to the door rubber for a '51???

Alan..This is a job that I have to do..reseal doors. This seems like to be a problem judging from pasts posts on this forum. You mentioned getting new door rubber to fit a 1951 truck. The parts books that I have all show a range of years that this rubber fits. My truck is a 1955 first series, same as a 54 {glue on}. Chevy duty shows 47 to 1954 with all the same part number. Where did you order 1951 door rubber?:-)

My "expert" ordered and installed it for me, and rehung my doors -- I had some damaged hinges that he fixed up ... I'm guessing he ordered the 51 rubber from Chevy's of the 40s

I ordered the "54 door rubber" way back in January, when I first got my truck ... and before I knew about Chevy Duty.

Seems to me, after 8 months of learning about the different parts suppliers, Chevy Duty *always* does it right!
