door window felt / reassembly

Ok I finally have all the parts for reassembly of my windows.

What is the best order to reassemble?

I am thinking reinstall vent window assembles.

Then u channel for the rear side of the window and then the window.

What is the best way to hold the u channel in place while it dries?

Rebuild vent window frames. Slide into place, but do not bolt. Now time for frlt u channel. Start at vent window, then chase back, carefully bend at rear of door, if you kink (common) just flatten out with pliers...I use some 4" sheetmetal flanging pliers. Pull out u channel, now spread a thin layer of weatherstripping cement on top of frame and side, also on matching sides of channel. Let dry. Now put a thin coat of cement on the section of u from the curve down into the door...NOT THE TOP. Put channel in door track. Install window glass, roll all the way down. Insert vent window, pulling top channel out of the way. Bolt vent window in, check working of glass. Now cement top of channel, install garnish moldings and enjoy less wind noise and leaks...(they will never be stopped....old technology.)

I just cut a nice 4" circle under my vent window (down above the bottom hinge) for a 4" speaker. This should help when it comes time to rework my vent windows, no?
Instead of brakes, I got a sterio system from Santa. True, I do love my tunes...

It will help with the lower bolt for the vent window. If you are cutting a hole, go with a 6 1/2" speaker....much more sound than a 4". 4" will give little bass response, mostly just highs.

Thanks for the reassembly steps. Vent rebuild come out great. I have to wait for the cold snap to pass so I can glue.

My wife got it as a Black Friday deal from WalMart. Kenwood. I can always make the holes bigger, but I do have one of those bass thumpy things (kind of) behind the seat, so I'm thinking this will be "okay".
