there was no boot on either end of the steering drag ling on my 52 one ton. is there suppose to be? has anyone rebuilt a tie rod end using a kit?

Sad to say we had to give up on our project 53 3100... But good news, my son bought it and will trailer it form S. TX to AZ as a project for his 7 year old son....Life is gooood.. Ric
Drag Link Dust Seal Some years had a thin sheet metal cover that didn't do much . I use a bit of old inner tube , cut oval in shape with a hole in the middle for the ball to poke through . Remember : you're supposed to grease these old rigs monthly , then wipe off the mess to avoid the usual 2" buildup of old grease and dirt .
