Dripping torque-tube joint?

    Torque Tube Ball Modification

    That looks pretty clever ! .

    I just wonder how long it'll last on a daily driver rig being soft metal .

    It looks to me like it functions as a spacer to give you a new seal surface on both ends of the torque tube ball cover (pushes the back seal down the torque tube as well).

    Interesting, but will this effect the way the tube flexes at the ball? I assume it has this much play available. Seems this might change the geometry of the shaft just a tiny bit if this matters. It effectively makes the tranny housing 3/8" longer?
