Got the spindles in Thursday and spent most of the morning installing them. Dropped the front end down just right. There is not much clearance between the street and the crossmember so I'm sure that I'll take my time going over speed bumps! But over all I think it turned out pretty good!!

    Awesome work!

Man~ you've been pretty creative! That looks like one slick system! Thanks for the link to all those pictures of your progress. What again did you use and how much welding did you do? Your system -has- to have the complete steering system installed as well, correct? Could you use this front end and keep the straight six?
Job well done! It won't be long before you're behind the wheel, no?

I took the saddle & drag link to a local shop & had the work done (I think they only charged me $50). After shortening the drag link, he welded a sleeve over the cut for added strength. Mounting the saddle was a bit challenging because it appears that he may have taken out a bit more than 1 1/2" but I just used a grinder to make it fit flush. If you plan on using a a V8 you wont be able to use the factory mounts as the engine will sit too low. I had some custom mounts fabricated but you could also modify them with blocks to raise it up. There were a couple of articles that helped me. Steve Andereggen Jr. has good info as well as this one and this one by Jon C Peters.
Other than that everything is fairly simple.
As far as the straight six is concerned, my original intent was to keep my 235. But I came across a good deal on a 327 so I jumped on it. I later decided to update to fuel injection so I added the TPI from a 87 Camaro.

Many Tanks for the info! I'm sure anyone who looks at all your photos will agree- you kicked it! I'm sure you'll attract W-A-Y to much attention when you get that rollin' down the road!

A set of modified tubular control arms will pull in the track width on that thing.

Well I've got to do some modifications or changes. I've been informed that there are isues with the scrub line. If I have a blowout the first thing to hit the groound would be the A-arm. I can install a larger diameter wheel, that would put the bottom of the rim below the scrub line. I'm currently running 16x7 torg thrust II's. I may bump that up to 18's on the front & 20's on the rear or just 20's all the way around.
