    Ok,

I read Wolf's post on just using a straight pipe and really liking the sound. He had a single manifold and later split the pipe to have a dual exhaust look in the rear.

I have a 53' 3100, 235ci with dual carbs and stainless headers. I told the shop to just give me a straight pipe dual exhaust system with a crossover. It was WAAAY to loud. The shop told me it was because the headers made it much louder then stock:eek:.

I then had him add two 30" glass packs....they didn't have the 40''s Nate talked about. That was the sound I wanted. It has a nice deep Manly tone going down the road, but you can still talk in normal volume. Listen to the Radio. Gets a noticable more Muscular tone going through the gears:D.

    CCharr,

Stainless racing headers from EBAY, the guys were from So Cal they are great ($165?). I have a Fenton dual carb intake with two rebuilt but still leaking "Rottenchesters". I'll post some picks if SWMBO will ever let go of the camera for her Facebook encounters.

I am starting to see a lot of different stuff for the I6 on ebay right now there are three different multi carb manifolds on ebay now, 1-fenton and the others I have never seen before. Split manifold exhaust are on there also but they all claim they fix 216 and up, bt dt already. Hope you get the use of her camera soon, tho. That is funny cause I have the same issue when it comes to her camera.

That is awesome!!! I like the dual look too. Yeah for my 228GMC mind you:D It is all stock. I can imagine that with the dual carb set up and header that could change the sound a lot. Glad that you got what you were looking for. for my set up also it is just single from the stock manifold then right before it goes over the rear axle it splits to dual exhaust, straight out the back, with those pencil tips.

Can't wait to see pics of it!! Glad you are happy with it:)

The guys at the muffler shop gave me the old "I told you so" when I went back. I told them they were nice for doing what the customer wanted first and ate a little humble pie. Puffed them up a bit. They cut and added the glass packs back in for no charge other then the Glass packs.

I told them I got the info from a GMC Guy and some old "Coot" from LA!! They just rolled their eyes in a understanding way.

OMG!! Your expecting a lot. It took me two hours just to post my pics of the 53'. I wiped out the message about three times. Fussed for a long time sending my pics from Kodac to computer, finally to Classic Chevy. Whew! It was tough.
