I got this intake manifold for my 50s birthday last year and there's written with a maker on it that it fit 216/235 and I know that can't be right! I had to test it on my '56 235 that I plan to have in my 1950 Panel and I discoverd that the bolt holes for the pinbolts that come from the stock exhaust manifold dosen't line up. I'm sure that this intake is for a 216, cause the rings that go in the head and line up into the intake don't fit either. So I was wondering if I can use a stock exhaust from a 216 and get this setup to work? Any help would be appreciated Klaus
Is the manifold made of Al.? If so go have the holes moved to fix your line-up on the existing manifold. A Good welder can fix that and make it look like it was never touched. Be sure they have a templet to bolt to before they weld, like and extra head.
Measure the diameter of the ports, I believe the 216 ports are a smaller diameter than the 235/261 ports. I know they make an adapter ring to bolt a 235 manifold to a 216 and you might be able to install that ring backwards to use the 216 manifold on the 235 but I think you would have to have the ports or runners opened up to be right for the 235. Those manifolds are cheep and you should be able to find the right one fairly easy....Big Tim
