I got this thing in and I think it will work fine. Sorry for the poor quality pics but it is kinda in a tight place. The first is the new MC. The second it the hookup to the existing brake pedal and the spacer that I used to line it up and the third is where I pluged the hole in the distribution box that use to take fluid to the rear brakes. The coupling in the foreground is where the rears are now spliced in. Now I am going to put new wheel cylinders on the front and bleed and my brakes should be good to go. Gater
Lookin' Good! Looks like a great setup Gater! I can't believe they couldn't tell you what year/make that the mc went to- The box had a part number, right? Seems like they'd be able to put the part number in and find out. Anyway- With the exception of the tailgate and wheel cylinders, your good to go, right? I'm lookin' forward to more pics of your ride! That will make you and the Boop done... I hate to say it, but you guys are stuck with me for a l-o-n-g time. I don't have $$$s to throw at mine- just time. BTW- can you pop the top on thatmc from inside, or is that a from underneath thing? (Same with closing?) I'm happy for you!
Zig, I am in the process of cutting an oblong hole in the floor so that I will have full access from above. I plan to cut a 3/4 inch board to fit the hole thin attach a piece of flat metal to one side of it with about 1/2 inch lip all the way around so that it will fit snug and lay flat under the mat. Thanks for the encouragement. Gater
Very Much So ! Cool Beans ! There might be a manufacterers number stamped or casted into it.... I went through this on my old '65 harley Davidson PanHead some 35 years ago ~ the dealer wanted about $100.00 for the rear brake cylinder and I looked at it and I just knew it was a std. Wagner brake part so I took it to my local brake parts jobber and he ID'd it for me and sold them to me for $16.95 each , I used to know the P/N and re-sell them to the Harley guys for $35.00 & be both a ' good guy ' and make me a few $ on the side , be nice if we could do this with the dual MC's for our AD's , I've been told the late 1970's Mustang _manual_ brake master cylinder is a good one to use.... I dunno tho' .
