Does anyone have close-up pics of their dual Weber set-up on their Chevy 235? What do all the hose outlets on the carbs go to? Also how the throttle linkage was configured. Picked up four 83 Escort rebuilt Weber carbs on ebay. Some for spare parts.
Carby Fun The hose nipples , cap them all off until you have the engine running then test with a vacuum gauge , the ones that slowly get vacuum that increases as you rev. the engine , are for the vacuum advance on the distributor . The ones that pull vacuum at idle , are for SMOG equipments , cap them off . The ones that vent to the float bowl , are not used - cap them off . You're pretty much on your own with the linkage , first get the engine running then adjust & balance the carbys until the engine idles smoothly , then work up linkages using ball or Heim joints & threaded rods that are adjustable and pull both carbys exactly equally and wind up with the throttle plates vertical when the accelerator pedal is flat on the floor . it sounds difficult but is mostly time consuming , trial and error work . I hope this was helpful .
Capping lines Thanx Charles and Nate. I figured capping lines would be a part of it. Should only one carb be set up to choke, and is it better to choke manually instead of electrically?
Multiple Carby Chokes I just connect the choke cable to the rear most carby , others like to take the time & effort to use Electric (Bi-Metallic) choke carbies and have both chokes working .....
