dying Bertha 64

here is the problem...I have a 64 230 inline and after driving for less than 2-3 miles the truck will just die. No amount of praying or cursing will make her start, until maybe the next day. When I first purchased Bertha, (that's what my girlfriend calls her) back in Dec04, I drove her about 60-70 miles before she quit, and now if I can make it to the gas station and back I'm lucky. Here is what I've replaced, (so far!!) sending unit, fuel pump, carburetor, points & condenser, rotor & cap, spark plug wires, and voltage regulator. Made adjustment and timed. I'm still getting spark but she just won't start, any ideas???
 
The ignition break down sounds right, but I noticed you didnt mention anything about changing the fuel filter. You might want to check that also.
 
Is there some kind of insulator block between the carb and the intake manifold ?

If you have a new fuel filter and you are sure you have good spark, this sounds a lot like vapor lock.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I replace the coil...also replaced all the fuel filter. So I guess that means that Bertha has the VAPORS!!
Now doctors how do we cure her. I read a post here about the fuel line originally having a braided cover?!?!? and if so where does one get one, (and only if it will cure Bertha). I couldn't find a fuel line here at ChevyDuty for a 64, had a hard time finding a sending unit here, they had it listed as a sender unit. Thanks for any help in advance.
 
Two possibilities to check for vapor lock.

The fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb is routed too close to a heat source. It should be a hard line that is prevented from touching the block, or exhaust manifold, valve cover or who knows what else...

You can use flex type rubber hose, but make sure it's rated to carry fuel !! And, again, make sure it's not in direct contact with a heat source.
The fuel filter also must not be in contact with a heat source and should be mounted as close as you can to the carb.

The other is that insulator block between the carb and the intake.

Bertha does not have an insulator block between the carb and the intake, I guess I'll get one and see if that will cure her of the vapors...thanks
