Can somebody tell me if the ebrake cables are supposed to be above the tranny crossmember or below it? The previous owner installed a Turbo 350, and for some reason he hacked the cables. Maybe because they won't go back on with the 350 conversion? Oh yeah, it's a 66 fleetside longbed.

I dont know if this will help but my 61 has a muncie 4 speed and the cross member for the e brake cable is above the tranny. I saw on another form that when you put a automatic under the you have to do movet the E brake cross member to get it to work right..

I think you are referring to the e-brake bellcrank...correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the 66 has this bellcrank. I'm new to the Chevy truck phenomenon and am learning as I go. I do appreciate the response, though. What other forum were you looking at?
