I'm thinking about converting my points type ignition to an electronic ignition in my 56 GMC 3/4 ton. It has a straight 6 292 out of a 63 chevy in it. Where would be a good place to get a conversion kit? Any particular name brands that are good? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I got my "Mini" HEI from Langdon's Stovebolt (586-739-9601)... total cost $167.50... My mechanic felt it was a good deal as it was complete and GM vs. a repro so if I had problems parts could be easily gotten. Turns out I did have a problem tho... the ignition module was bad and I had to replace it which I did locally. I haven't talked with Langdon's yet to see if they'll give me a rebate or something.
