I'm looking to convert over to an electronic ignition... Anyone know of a good source for a GM factory system (not aftermarket)... I believe a late 70's system would do the job fine. Thanks!

you will find that the plentiful gm systems will not fit due to firewall clearance.Unless you modify the firewall(cave it in?) you may want to consider one of the good aftermarket electronics that resemble gm,but are smaller in diameter.Msd is a usable choice without modifying anything.I run one in my truck and no problems.

one more thought-If you are doing a custom build-I suppose the engine mounts could be moved forward a couple of inches to make clearance for a stock gm unit.Salvage yards are full of cores,or you can buy a rebuilt unit from any auto parts store. In the magazines there are also a bunch of high performance versions marketed that are built out of stock cores.
