I like the GM HEI distributor for several reasons. They are easy to find, low in price, and if repairs are needed (maybe every 500,000 kilometers) then the parts can be found at any parts store. They are big and need some very simple lathe work but just the most dependable unit ever built. I use them in everything---GM, Ford, Chrysler, Clark forklift, etc. One in my 1937 Buick straight 8 which is a 235 with two more cylinders.
