Hi ya all' I have an other question!!
I have put my beloved 53 body on an s-10 frame and I was wondering how to do the emergency brake/handle . Could I still use the orginal set up (once I figure how that was) or do I have to come up with something else. any help will appreciated.

does anyone have a picture of the stock emergency brake, Mostly I need to see how it looks under the car to see if I can find the parts.I filled all of the holes in the cab thinking I would not be able to use the E-brake pedal.

OK , I did what everyone says I should do. I DID A SEARCH, and guess what
i found a picture of the e-brake pedal.
What I was trying to ask is: how do you set up the cables to pull on the emergency components that are part of the rear disk brakes from a firebird. Maybe I am missing something ,but when you step on the stock pedal the rod that is arched will move down how does this tighten the cables to
activate the e-brake.
Does this make sense??

There is a rod that goes from the pedal to a pivot bar between the frame rails just behind the cab that the E brake cables hook to
 
It's funny what you do not see when you look at something. I have the old frame in the side yard and as many times as I have looked at it I forgot about the cross bar that activates the brakes.
Does anyone have an idea on how to use the stock E-brake pedal to activate the disk brakes (firebird rear end).
 
I have a 87 Iroc disc rear in mine and am just working on it now but it looks like the original cables from the Iroc will clamp into the same location as the original with a little modification. There is a cable clamp on either side of the frame.
 
Are you talking about the original frame or an s-10 frame.
Do you think that the bar on the original frame is needed to be used in order to pull the cables??
 
I have the original frame. You would not have to use it but then you would have to fab something up to pull both cables equally. since I have still on my frame I am going to use it.
 
Based on what I have learned.
l will use a hand brake handle from a bmw 3 series. This way I can just run a cable to each rear brake to activate the e-brake.

Question for the learned ones:
If I install the cables just short of tight, then when I activate the hand lever, it should activate the e-brake. Do most e-brake require similar range of movement in order to set the brake??
Does this question make sense???

PS. I just got for Christmas, Don Taylor's book on Custom Auto Interiors can't wait to start on the inside.
