I hope everyone is having a great time with family. I see that Chiro is being very productive with his kids in a post earlier today. It does me good to see that young lady twisting a wrench. Have you ever seen a piece of your truck a thousand times not knowing where it fits, then when you figure it out, you can't find the ##$$%% thing? Well, I have that problem. Pictured here are the pieces I need (in red) but the one I need real bad is the one marked "sector". If anyone has a spare that I can talk you out of please PM me with a price. Thanks and Happy New Year to all! Gater
Gater, Obsolete Chevrolet Parts might have it. Bill, I found the parking brake sector 3655807 and pin lock 358829 listed in my catalog. Here's the website www.obschevy.com and their phone #1-800-248-8785. Good luck!
Thanks, Ken. Now I know where I can get one if I can't find mine with a little more looking. For $25 I can look a little longer. I am sure it is somewhere as I rarely throw anything away. Gater
So THAT"S what that "extra" casting on the side of my four speed is for!!! Too bad I can't help you out as mine is a 1/2 ton 55.1 and the e-brake is on the floor to the left of the clutch. Andy
At the risk of hijacking your thread... Where do you find the diagrams with the original GM part numbers? The ability to start a part search with the original GM part number would be very handy.
Bruce, I have a copy of the "1947-1954 TRUCK Factory Assembly Manual". I got mine on Ebay but they are available since they have been reprinted. Gater
Hey Ken, The box didn't have any markings on it but way down in the bottom there were 2 of these sectors that I was looking for. Didn't see them before. Combination of bad light and old eyes. Oh yeah, and panic. Thanks for the lookup. Gater
Glad you found the parts. I learned from your adventure too. My 1 ton parking brake isn't working either. Now I know what the parts look like. Gotta get one of those assembly books too. Thanks!! Happy New Year to All!!! Rick
