i hate making threads like this due to at least one being out there already. I did some searching but came up less than successful. how many different places are the engine/transmission connect (to whatever) that i need to locate in order to remove all of it as a whole. Also, where can i unbolt the drive shaft? Thanks a lot!

Since I ain't got rid of mine yet, I'm not sure, but I believe the 6 (If you're talking about removing the original 6) has two bolts up front and two at the tranny. Unscrew the cover on the end of the tranny, (4 screws?) and then slip the whole thing out- right Nate?

Presumably we're talking about a StoveBolt engine and Torque Tube tranny here ? .

To disconnect the driveshaft , loosen the threaded collar at the back of the ball housing (usualy under 3/4" of nasty , gooey gunk crap) then remove the four bolts holding the ring onto the back of the tranny , clean the gooey crap off the driveshaft with a scraper or putty knife and slide the ball back , oil _will_ pour out onto your catch towel , look at the U-joint , the caps have two small bolts each , unscrew these and the yoke with U-joint will slide back far enough to clear that back of the tranny .

I like to use a water pump bolt on the front of the engine and a manifold bolt at the back , this way the load is more or less balanced so it's easier to remove . taking out the radiator and upper baffle prevents you from ruining these expen$ive to replace items you'll be needing later after the V-ate is in .

    I hope this helps ? .

BTW : please save all the U-joint & ball parts , folks need them , even the hardware and lock washers etc.
