Dumping Exhaust I guess it’s personal preference, or is it best to dump the exhaust behind the rear tires or straight out the back? Right now my dual 2.5 inch is dumped out the back (my first atempt). Now like behind the tires? I think there are some state laws indicating where the exhaust should be placed? This is my issue, that's why call them customs right.

Exhaust In truth , it all boils down to how much you want to annoy everyone else ~ Long pipes out the back are mellower regardless of anything else . Adding , say , ' fart can ' muflers or those extremely noisy turbo mufflers can raise it back up to nasty levels but I rarely have any mufflers atall , I do use crossovers to improve scavanging but the end noise , isn't terrible unless I romp on it really hard . You pays your moneys and makes your choice .
exhaust Florida law is fairly liberal on exhaust systems. Basically, the system has to be in good working order with no leaks and no excessive or unusual noise. The decible level is set by D.O.T. My truck has a built 350 with after market headers and dual exhaust that was built by a local exhaust shop. The mufflers I chose are not loud because I like hearing the truck noise as I drive so I can keep tabs on everything. Probably a good idea to check with the laws of the state you are in. One thing I realized as I was building my truck, you only have to please one person, so please youself. Gerald in Florida truckin is good for you
