I have a '57 chevy apache 4x4 and I need to find the felt inserts that hold grease in the ball joints.

Any ideas where I can find them?

    Thanks,

    Dan

I apologize in advance if I'm wrong but unless I'm mistaken, there wasn't an Apache pickup available until sometime after the 1957 model year. Also, I'm not all that familiar with the 4x4 but are you certain it has ball joints? I thought Chevy trucks of that vintage only had kingpins.

Don't know if this will help, but if '57 Chevy 4wd front axle is the same as '57 GMC 4wd front axle which is a "GM F022" the felt seals that you are looking for are listed in the GMC Master Parts Book as:

    Quantity 4
    Part Number 2352858
Seal - Front Axle Ball End Large

    Quantity 4
    Part Number 2352860
Seal - Front Axle Ball End Small

Looking at the drawing there only appears to be a total of 4 (upeer and lower half on each side), so I can't figure out the difference between "large" and "small". GMC used the same parts from '56 through at least '59 (my book only goes through 59).
