Well, I thought someone else would mention it but you haven't. Am I the only NASCAR fan on this forum? Does anyone else consider the Daytona 500 as the first sign of Spring? Does anyone else have traditions like wearing their Dale Earnhardt t shirt every year or always having a big plate of Taco salad?

Come on guys, we were talkative about the Super Bowl of football why not the Super Bowl of Auto racing?

All my favorites were pretty well taken out in wrecks but I would have really liked for Mark Martin to win. The guy has come in 2nd so many times in the championship never to have won that he really deserved this. He is such a good guy and such a competitor. Arkansas should be proud. I always liked Mark cause, if he had a problem with someone on the track, he wouldn't whine to the camera. He would say, "that's just racin". Then he would go stand toe to toe with them and ream them out good.

Anyway, the first sign of Srping came today. At least to a NASCAR fan.

Sorry gater- The only sports I allow time to is watching the Chiefs beat or get beat. Other than that, I've got so much going on- I don't even get to watch the Royals play ball!
I DID enjoy watching some of the ice melt today though. Even had time to have a fire in the pit this afternoon. Grilled some burgers and chicken breasts while mulling over my frame's fate. This was the first day in the 50's since MLK's day. Here's to many more!

    Zig,
A buddy of mine that is a pipefitter and a gas man come over yesterday and we put in a gas line to the outside so that I can hook up a grill without having to carry the tanks back and forth to be filled. I can't wait to start cooking out again but we got 3 inches of snow last night and it iced up the roads so bad that our church canceled services. You know its back when a Baptist church cancels services. It is mostly because we don't want to take a chance on the elderly falling and hurting themselves.
Anyway, I'm glad it is finally warming there a little. I know you have had it rough lately.

Well, I have said the same thing sort of. Yesterday it was 70 degrees, blue skies, shorts, iced-tea, etc. But today it rained, what's up with that. Mother nature at her finest.

I taped the race, took the family to go see a movie. I'll watch later. At least the winner was a San Joaquin Valley native (Bakersfield)

    Spring has sprung

Woohoo game on!! spring is here and the thunder is rolling around the track once again. Nuttin like spending the day in the garage working on the truck and watching the race. I've upgraded for this season! put a tv in the garage. Now I don't have to track truck into the house to see the big one. Wanted to see Mark finally get one, that was a shame. Guess he'll have to wait a little longer before he fully retires????

You know, it is sad when a driver has about 5 losing seasons before he is ready to retire. It seems like Mark just keeps getting better. How many dirvers have you seen that can change teams, sponsers and cars and come within 2/100ths of a second of winning the first race they drive and it is the Daytona 500. I say that Mark should win a few for the over 50 crowd of which I am.
I am ready to put a TV in my shop too. I just need to buy it and put it on the wall mount that has been thre since last fall. Then run a little cable and I won't have to track truck and such back in either.

Tailgater,I'm sure you guys know what you are doing, but did you change the "orifice" in your regulator? Bad things can happen if you don't. Sorry I'm not a Nascar fan, more into drag racing.

Thanks. I have worked with propane and natural many times so I am aware of the orifice issue. Of course, using a natural gas orifice with propane makes a killer flame thrower!
