    Have done so many AD's I often wonder "How can this be a problem?" to first time builders but now it's come back to haunt me. We have a 70 VW convertible that's being restored back to stock and it presents a unique problem. When you lift the body off the floor stays behind so with no top and no bottom it's going to be REALLY floppy I'm afraid. Bought 120 ft of 1 1/4 square tubing for shoring which will brace it front to back and side to side but vertical bracing with no floor and no top is a problem. Hope that twin horizontal loops, one high, one low, with braces between them will work. Not a stranger to Beetles since we have swapped in a 392 Chrysler hemi, a nailhead Buick, and a my personal Bug got a 400 sbc many years ago but they all had tops. I know this isn't an AD subject but I also know there are some really sharp minds on this forum which I respect and can maybe offer some tips. Thank you;
    Evan

    What we did was remove the doors and tack weld in X braces of angle iron .

    This allows the body to be moved about , flipped over for the heater channel rust repairs you're going to have to do etc.....

    I have faith in your ability to do this .
