Hi all ; I'm home from my desert trip , I was able to make it home just as the rain began falling Here in Sunny So. Cal. , we don't get much pacipitation so the natives kinda go nutso when it rains It's been a real ' Gully Washer ' , also something we don't ever get . I know my Mid West and Nor' Eastern buddies are all getting pounded by the weather , hand in there , it'll be over soon . I _really_ need to replace the leaky CD rubber in my truck , I've had a good one from Steele Rubber C. for a coupld years now I think.... I'm off for a brisk swim to the drugstore .
Ahhh~ the drug store.... Today is the first day we've cracked the mid 40s in... how long?... Of course we do things in dramatic fashion around here. Why just bump up to the 50s when you can zoom up to low 60s ~OVERNIGHT?!~ Of course, the wind is blowing "like a hurricane", but what the hey, I'll take it! (Even if I've spent the whole day catching up on school "stuff"...) Warm enough to use a rattle can, but-
Interestingly ....The drugstore is now a CVS , 10 years ago when I bought my last rubber bathmat , it was a Thrifty Drug ~ come to find out , they now stock all manner of trash and toys , candy etc. but little actual Drugstore stuff like Thrifty did ~ I asked the sales girl who went and asked her manager who said ' waitaminnit ' , dove into the storeroom and came out with the exact same bathmat I'd bought there 10 years ago ~ I guess they never throw anything out even if it's not on the shelf . It stopped raining this morning , that's why I ran out for errands , still no rain although dark , wet clouds overhead , if I'da known no rain was coming I woulda ridden my Moto dog gone it all . It's supposed to pour again to-night .
I know what you mean! I spent the day in the attic of the garage putting up Christmas stuff in shorts and a t-shirt! It just ain't right!
well... You've got to be abstract to live in Kansas. (Or anywhere along this line...) If you're not willing to put up with the extremes, it'll eat you up. I kinda like it. It reminds me of the extremes of my youth~ or my loves
I feel for you Nate. Up here in Sacramento, we've had the high winds to deal with too. Not bad enough that the clay soil makes everything a puddle. My neighbor lost 2 cedar trees that luckily missed everything. Had to anchor the back fence in 50 mph winds, and I threw out my disc again wrestling my kids 15 foot trampoline as it went airborne with me attached. I'm ready for summer again!!! All this fun and I still can't remember the last time I worked on my truck. Thank goodness for Jack Daniels, and cold beer!...........Mike
