As far as I can tell, Yes. I used the 216 bellhousing on the 235, but it looked identical to the 235 one that was with the engine.

different is the bolt on from the pedal assy. the 216 cover has a hole to bolt on the pedal assy the 235 cover has not. after i swapped my 216 to 235 this summer i used the 216 cover bolt it on and all parts fitting perfect.

    Scatter Pans

    Yes and no ~

It depends on the bell housing oddly enough~ my buddy's 1954 Chevy 160 low rider , has a (?) 1961 (we think) bell housing and a '54 tranny , the '54 scatter psan I scored him , fits but doesn't quite cover the entire opening .

It's weird to be sure .

This opart is _much_ more important than most realize , luckily they're only $10 ~ $25 at most every swap meet .

BTW : it turns out , I was right (for once) , you can lower your car to 2" and retain the Torque Tube ~ he had to open up the floor and box it where it now rides high (almost touches the seat frames) but it does work just fine and since the Torque Tube is a super reliable setup , he loves it and the 235 just dandy .
