I am in need of a flywheel dust cover for my 51 chevy. Any help in locating one would be appreciated.
Flywheel Dust Covers IIRC there's only two or three different ones so unless he has a 1962 bell housing , pretty much any old one from a junker 216/235 or 261 should fit perfectly . Guys , I know many here have the old greasy lump of Babbit Pounder sitting , help out the fellow in the first post weho didn't ad his name , this is a cheap part , often tossed out . save the four flat headed screws (' Stovebolts ') for him too .
Nate are You Saying that 55 thru 59 would be the same possablly , If so I probly have some & could send one . If You have a pic it would be Helpfull as a lot of My parts are in a pile . Thanks . Bob
I Belive So As the one on my '49 is one I just found in a pile of junk in that old abandoned secret junkyard I like out in the Mojave Desert... Passenger car 216 pans may be different but I *think* only the '61 & '62 235 Passenger Car ones are the really different ones . It's a more important part than most realize as oil fumes from the Road Draught Tube tend to get sucked into the flywheel and clutch when it's missing and this causes dragging clutch....
