The timing did`nt work out at once and i could not find any information about the differences between the 216 and the 235 ignition timing BBall point that shows on both of the different flywheels. The marking arrangement is just different because of the powerglide transmission but the number of flywheel teeth are just the same in numbers (lurning by doing). When swapping the 216 for a 235 Ci engine you need to know that the original 235 flywheel has a different marking distance then the 216, and the BBall mark is`nt therefore in the same position. You dont realy have to think about the ball at all.

The old trick to sett the timing right is still to get the 1 cylinder on dead end top point, the ignition cap turned into the same direction and the vacume clamp on 0 gives the right start. The ignition point is standard.Using the stroboscope lamp is adviceable to get it done excactly.
