A friend has offered me his running 79 GMC 3/4t PU as a donor for parts in my 1966 1/2t fleetside shortbox. I am a novice at swaps and such, but was wondering if I can use the 79 clip complete with disc brakes. On another forum someone had mentioned it would bolt in with 1" shims, but I am not sure about the difference between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 front ends. I thought most of the difference in these trucks was the load capacity on the rear axle and springs but I wonder... Can anyone enlighten an eager but unknowing builder?
