I just bought a front hood emblem and mounting gasket for my 1953 Chevy and I was wondering if you trimmed the gasket around the emblem or just leave it the way it is. Thank you.

RE: Front hood emblem mounting gask Actually, originally there was no gasket under the emblem, so I would say that if you do want one, it should not show. But I am not sure by trimming it so much it does not show it would be doing any good for you.
RE: Front hood emblem mounting gask I thought it looked better showing around the edge about 1/8 inch, but Son thought it would look better trimmed next to the emblem. Either way it should seal ok. We trimmed it back. Thank you. KentC
