Well...today I spent 3 hours trying to fit a replacement front floor panel on the passenger side. I had already installed the kick panel, cab corner, cab corner supports, inner sill and sill. Every thing was still square so the next task was to trim and weld in the floor board panel. A "piece of cake" I thought. WRONG!

To make a long story short, the cab mount bolt hole (indented) was factory punched 1" off. Of couse, it took me a long while to figure that out. As I tried to line up the floor panel with the sill and kick panel it got very frustrating. Finally, I said screw it (not exactly in those words), and began a Bud Lite regimen. I finally got all things in line and will drill another cab mount hole when I recover. Beware of such things. :(

Just a thought..... Rather than drill a new hole could you cut out the indented hole and locate it into the correct position? You no doubt are handy at welding and the relocation would provide a better end result.

    Hope this helps..

You`re not the only person to do this, this was Alan`s truck he had the same issue...not detected till cab was painted and dropped onto frame.

I like the idea of cutting out the indented hole and moving it....will do. I hate the thought that others have had the same problem....I guess quality control is a thing of the past.

What I would do is drill a very small hole, 1/16", through the floor using the frame body mount bracket as the template. Then using that as a reference point mark around the small hole and the indented portion. This way when you cut out the indented portion and spin the cut out portion it will fit without gaps. Then just plug weld the 1/16" hole.

Eazy Peazy Lemon Squeazy ;) Well maybe more like Easier Peazier Lemon Squeasier.... :p
