I'm rewiring my 51 gmc changing from 6 to 12 volts and positive to negative ground. My question is does anyone know where to put the voltage reducer for the fuel gauge. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bryan

RE: fuel guage Reducer

In the power lead , this is the left most (lower) connection on the back of the gauge .

Be sure to hole the wire as you loosen the nut as the gauge will be ruined if the threaded post turns as it will want to do .

Radio Shack has better voltage regulators (rather than a resistor), I don't know the part # but if you get a good clerk and tell him you want a 1 to 5 amp draw rated regulator that takes up to 15 or so volts DC and puts out 6 volts DC , you'll get it , remember the gauge cares not a whit about posative or negative ground so forget that part .
