I installed a new fuel pump on my truck (Hasn't ran in 25 years) and am having no gas to the carburator. I can get the truck to run as long as I spray starting fluid down the carb but it will only run until it burns it up. I'm getting gas to the pump because I can see the gas (glass bowl)but not up to the carb. My fuel line is clean and I can siphon gas up through the fuel line (it burns in your mouth). Could it be that I installed the fuel pump on wrong even though I'm getting fuel to the pump? Please help!

    Fuel Flow Issues

    It all depends :

    Engine ? 6 or V-8 ? .

In general , the fuel should gush out of the pipe where it enters the fuel pump ~ if it dribbles , there's crud in the tank pickup , usually right at the little valve on the bottom , be very careful when you remove it for cleaning as ALL the fuel in the tank will come gushing out so have catch pans ready and NO SMOKING ! .
