This company is not in wisconsin but they have great stuff. They are based out of florida. They have excellent wiring harnesses, guages, window regulators and other stuff at a good price. Here's the link.

    BTW welcome to the site.

I agree that some of the harnesses are not very good ones, but I happen to have (well not me but dad does) one of the ezwiring 21 circuit harness and is very good quality. And I have also met and looked over one of the guys featured on the painless wiring website (black and yellow 62 corvette and black and yellow 57 chevy) and EVERYTHING was top notch on his ride. I don't believe he would put junk in his car. I don't know much about the company in washington though, just found that site last night. Hope all this helps.

If you're just running an engine W/ alternator and a stereo , I'd say stick with the stock harness as the early AD's all have a larger fuse box and it is a simple thing to wire up a stereo and alternator .

My '49 has one of the cheapo Taiwanese $100.00 stock harnesses in it , goes right in and works fine , my Delcotron alternator works fine as does my Blaupunkt stereo and big amplifier behind the seat.....

Of course if you're going total Hot Rod then the Painless kits might be for you as I know some guys that have them and like them .

me , I'm just a mechanic who likes simple , reliable stuff over the bling bling junk .

That is quite the mental picture Neil! I don't know what Nate looks like, but somehow I can just see him rollin' down main street at night with the big blue coming out from under his truck and the BVVvvvvvvvv- B-BVVVvvvvvvvvv- Bmm- BVVVVVVVVVVvvvvvv vibrating through the steel....

    Ghetto Truck

    LOL ! :D

I bought my truck from an ex Con who' stuffed all sorts of stereo Equip behind the seat , a 24" woofer was cobbled _under_ the passenger's side of the bench seat , ruining the seat track as they cut it for clearance . the glove box was full up with a BIG CD changer and there was a cheesy hommeade center console for all the radios and tape heads , equalizer and so on ~ I ripped out all but one amp and installed my Blaupunkt stereo tape deck so I can listen to my Blues whilst traveleing , my son copped all the outgoing stuff and I never saw it again

Yes , I can still wake up the entire block but thumpa-thumpa retard noise isn't my game , just good , howling pre-war Blues for the most part

Not to worry , I'm still an ex - farm boy in a slow , pokey old work truck , I just like to have music on board :)

Better be careful Nate All that vibration could make something come loose and fall off of the old gal. 24 inch woofer is not a small speaker for goodness sake. My 15 year old boy would Love ya !!! He has driven in my old '54 with no radio only his old man humming to listen to. Suck's to be him he says.

    If You Were Here...

Might be , I don't think so

I went into my backyard this morning to work on SWMBO 's Mercedes and by 08:30 the crack house across the street from me had two junkies on the porch banging on the door and wailing plainatively ' open up ! ' after an HOUR of this nonsense I called the cops , the Watch Commander refused to come to the 'phone so I argued with the dispatcher untill she said they'd send a squad car 'round " when they had some time " ~ by the time the car came over TWO HOURS had passed and the junkies were long gone , lucky for me , two SUV's full of 7 Latino junkies pulled up just before the Cops arrived and were on the porch so the Cops called for backup and soon my side street was blocked off with three cars and one young fellow was cuffed up ~ the dealer who lives there (along with a handfull of people) never did answer the door so they let everyone go after and hour or two of routine B.S. and running makes on them all...

Not a lot of people willing to live in my 'hood and raise up good kids with 4.0GPA in school....

I suppose it *is* funny that crack whores proposition me as I'm trying to leave for work or whatever......

I have reasons for hating the " Bling-Bling" lifestyle .

Jesus Christ Nate going to see you on Cops some day ? Not sure if I would think that is much Fun with the crack whores. Sounds like a rough hood Nate. Keep the kids straight is the important thing. "Bling-Bling" lifestyle just leads to bad times down the road at some point. Keep the faith Nate kids follow the leads set for them. Be Proud of what you have And don't forget give them a hug every now & then.

Thanx Steve , I like to think my boy turned out pretty well ~ no dope . gangs , tats nor bastard children , he's healthy & happy (!WHEW!) ;)

I've never seen an episode of COPS filmed in Pasadena , if they do , watch for me ! . I occasionally have to square off with a 12 YO crack dealer or car thief.... I'm no hero but I won't back down either , so far I've been lucky .

A couple years ago two gangs of black teen girls had a rumble on my block , it got pretty wild for a while there , a couple of them ran into my side yard where I was watching the fray right in front of me , then I had to chase them off my side porch and yard...this is why I have 8' fencing ~ that and to keep the crackheads from easily hopping into my yard and stealing my stuff.

Many of these kids are 13 going on 35 ! . one apartment house doesn't rent to anyone who has a job , it used to be full of 13 YO's with babies (plural) , broke my heart when they'd come around on hallow'een .

In the last couple years rich yuppies have discovered the classic , historic bungalows available cheaply in my 'hood so now we have these nervous types
in thier new Lexus' and so on..... :(

I'm just waiting for the next go - around with the code enforcement Officer , I'm 100 % legal and squeaky clean but they have to hassle me if the rich folks whine

Our Foster boys are doing quite well too ~ the 19 YO just bought his 1st. car , is working andgoing to college , not bad for the son of a crack whore , we're EXTREMELY proud of him needless to say :)

BTW : this isn't so bad , it was _far_ worse when I lived Down East , at least here I get sunshine most days...
