    Hi,

I'm new to the forum and I'm working on a 1969 C10. The gas guage is stuck at the 3 o'clock position. Any guesses as to whether it's the sendiing unit or the guage? Thanks for the help.

check behind the seat and see if the "brown wire" is still connected to the sending unit,if this wire comes disconnected your gas gauge will "pegout".
Sometime it gets crushed ,it runs along the floor on the drivers sill with the orange and white wire for the dome light.

    Thanks

Thanks! I bet that's it. When I picked up the truck, the original seat was in the bed, and there was a late model suburban seat in the cab. I swicthed them back, but I bet somewhere along the line something happened to the guage wire.
