gas tank filler location

Hey, motorheads,
I wanna move ma filler location on the tank to the side to so I can mount the gas door on the side of the fender. The tank is new ,made out of galvinized. I think its safe to weld. Is this metal hard to weld ? I got a mig welder. Do I use regular welding wire or is there some special wire to use. I know galvinized burns kinda diffrent. So what cha think ?

Side of what fender ? left rear or ?
what year of truck ?

Yes you can weld galvanized, try not to inhale..just like Bill Clinton!! and drink some milk afterwards and you'll be OK.

If there is gas in that tank,, that would be worse than the effects of welding galvanized,,

I'm pretty sure of that!
