Gas Tank

I'm putting in a Mustang gas tank under the bed of my 55.1 Chevy 1/2 ton. Few questions that I have: Do I have to use a rubber connecting sleeve between tank and filler pipe or can I weld filler pipe directly to tank? I come up with about 4 inches clearance between exhaust pipes...that enough?

My slower acting brain these days came up with another question..Can I use a vented gas cap instead of welding in a tank vent? Thanks

you could use fuel hose but not with 4 inches to exaust and I'm sure you can use a vented gas cap:+ }> :+
