    Hello,
does someone have a drawing or photo what kind of gasket is in differential housing where the propeller shaft ist going in?
The gasket at this palce is leaking oil. I think is breaking while the truck is standing a long time or it is too old.

It sounds as though you have converted to an open rear end and if so, the seal is called a "pinion seal". You can buy them for just about any rear end at most parts stores. If still a torque tube (closed driveshaft) then Ultra RTV can be used wherever there is a gasket. The Ultra name means it is more oil resistant and sets quicker at room temperature. You can tell it because it doesn't smell like acetic acid. If you use a sealant clean everything to completely oil free because it works by adhesion, not compression.

As i can remember its an 1953 truck you have .You can either buy a complete seal/gasket kit or seperate parts for your rear end at Classic Parts. Remember to use some sealant on both sides of your gasket . I have very good experiences in using Permatex ultra copper sealant or PERMATEX ULTRA GREY RTV SILICONE from the Permatex series . It is a bit moore expensive then other sealants but it has amazing strech and heating tolerance.
