I am replacing the glass in the vents and windows of my '64 C10. I have the vents and door glass out, but I need to know what is the procedure for removing and replacing the glass. Is there a manual I need to get? Any help is appreciated.

All you need is a tack strip for the glass. This is used to hold the glass in the metal channel. It's been a while since I did this but I do think it is a tacky cork material. Should be able to order this from Chevy Duty.

It's called "glass setting tape" and I think our hosts here at Chevy Duty carry the 3M brand. One roll will do both vents.

It's better to be working in a warm, heated environment for this as it makes the tape more plyable.

With the old glass out and the glass channels cleaned of all residue, wrap the tape around the glass wher it fits into the channel. By hand, gently work the glass and the tape into the channel as far as you can. If you are lucky, it will make it all the way into the channel, if not, G E N T L Y tap it all the way in the channel using a rubber mallet. Trim off the excess tape with a razor blade and you are done.

If you are also replacing the vent weather stripping ? That's a completly different thread ! ;)

Thanks for the help. This will be a new experience for me, so your advice will be put to use. I will be replacing all the neccessary components, weather strip, channels, division bars, etc. Will I drill out the vent rivets? I see our host has the rivets and a setting tool in the catalog. I guess that is what I will need.
Again, thanks to all for the help.

Make sure to take it easy when removing the anti-rattle strips. If you bend the metal inside the door it is hell getting it straight again. All the rest is fairly easy.

For installing the vent rubber weather stripping the same warm rule applies, only warmer ! It will make the job some what easier if the rubber weather stripping is warm.
Getting the rubber into it's correct position on the vents is a frusterating job. It takes patience, and three or four small clamps to hold it in position as you work your way around. Pick up some 3M Weather Strip Adhesive from our hosts here too.

Just take your time, be patient.
