I am looking for a good place to do the body work and paint on my '77. I'm able to do everything else on this truck but that and I've found that most places in the KC area won't do a complete vehicle because they are more after the "in and out" so that they can keep cars coming in and out of their shop. Does anyone know of a good place in the KC area to get this done at? I'm not after a show quality paint job or anything. Just a good paint job for a truck that'll be driven on the weekends and around town that shows well on the street. Any suggestions on this for future reference? Thanks for your help.

Old77, I am a long way from KC, but I do work at a GM auto plant and there are always guys around here who know where to get good paint jobs and body work done. Can you call the GM plant local union office there in KC and ask your question? I work with a guy who came from that plant and I'll ask him for you.

I can try and do that. Do you happen to have their number to get ahold of someone over there? Thank you for you suggestion. That helps me out a lot!!

The phone number for the UAW Local 31 at the Fairfax plant is 913-342-7330. I would try to get in touch with someone on the Recreation Committee. One of the members is Al Bello.
Every year, the local has a pcnic, which is given by the recreation committee. At the picnic there is a car show, with old cars and stuff-just the sort of place to find guys who know about restoration. Hope this works out for ya!
