I believe my nephew, who's taking over the shop, is made of the right stuff. His father, my brother, died when he was 8 years old so he spent a lot of summers at my shop and I guess some of the old car disease contaminated him. He could not have had a better person enter his young life than his step father, Chuck. This is his surprise thank you gift to him just in time for the cruising season. Please excuse the quick, poor picture, as I realised I hadn't taken any of the truck and caught it just as it was leaving for Minneapolis. I know he taken numerous photos so will post some of those on the TF site when he gets back.
Evan: I'm not sure about the his and him. Is the nephew presenting the truck to the nephew's stepdad or the other way around? Either way that is one great gift giver and one lucky recipient.
Apache truck That is a mighty fine truck Evan. I`ll wish him all good luck being the new shop owner .Are you planning on retiring? I have seen a lot a good work coming from your hands so the nephew is in good hands when having you around. My friend Aage here in my village has been running a car/truck/industrial repair comp. for 35 years and his son has taken over the buisness now.But the fathers knowledge and prescence is still a part of the buisness. He has his own department where he restores classic vehicles. I visit him him once in a while with my cars or motorcyle sharing our storees together. We also work together some times in mechanicall matters. Thanks for sharing.
Bill, It's my nephews gift to his stepfather. It's the truck with the Pontiac engine you saw when when we ran out by the shop when your were in Dallas. A Pontiac V8 in a 55 Chevy TF---does that make it a closet GMC?
Sweet ! Thank you Evan for giving this young man guidance and purpose in this troubled world . That's a really nice Task Force there . If he'd installed a 261 I6 and Hydromatic Drive , you could call it a Canadian GMC ! .
