    Hey folks,
anybody have gunracks mounted in your AD trucks?
I have got an old metal/rubbercoated rack in x-celent shape
and when i finished the inside of my cab, i left the mounting
holes in case i wanted to install it. maybe hang a walking stick
or hat or something on it. Like to c some pics if u have any.
    Thanx.

My truck had one in the past, so did the 53 I did. They make good fishing rod holders if ylou have extendable poles, like a Bream Buster.

    Thanx guys!
I guess its up to the owner and you can always take them out.
    ccharr,
yours is just like the one I have. I remember my Dad and his Dad had one just like them also. Just basic simple gun rack.

The old parts truck had one in it and i told the guy doing my body work i wanted to keep it and put it in the restored truck. He thought he knew best and must have sent it off to scrap with the rest of the parts truck when we were about done. I always thought it would be cool to use it to hold an old cane fishing pole or a pool cue (they too can be lethal in the right hands...) Your suggestion of a walking stick and hat are good ideas too. My dad ended up finding one for me in pretty decent shape, so I may still get to install one. Any ideas on what to use to clean that old rubber coating after it has set in the heat for many years and gets all tacky?

    gypsy truck,
I was lucky with my rack cause the only thing i had to do was kleen the mildew and mold off of the rubber and sand and paint the rest. (The po must have installed it before he parked it in his garage for 10 or so years.)

I cleaned mine with SIMPLE GREEN, works great on anything straight from the bottle. The only thing that i will not use it on is glass.
    Good Luck!
