    Drill the hole to the EXACT size of the white part, then slide them in. When I ws installing car alarms, we would pull the led out of the housing and mount from the back, then hot glue it in.

    I don't understand how you "removed the led from the housing and installed from the back". I like the idea of using hot glue.

    Put tape over the dash where you want to drill then a small center punch mark and a small pilot drill then drill to size.....Big Tim :cool:

    The alarm lights LEDs stuck out of a push fit housing, I'm not sure yours do. I mounted 2 LEDs in my quad guage for turn signal indicators. I drilled out the silver dots and slid in the LEDs from the backside, then glued with high temp black hot glue. Only the rounded part of the LED poke through the face of the guage.
