Head light bucket

Okay I have a question?? My Dad and I took apart my ole 52 years ago and now getting her back together. Problem is I don't know how to install the headlight bucket. Does it go in from the backside or front?? I am so confused as nothing I've tried seems to work.

Go's in front the front side. Light, and thin ring get put together on the bucket before putting the bucket on the fender

Any one have any extra headlight buckets in good shape?? I could make mine work but really need better ones??
