new to this, any help would be appreciated. Have 59 without heater or defrost. When put back would like to have these two things to make daily drive more comfortable. Thought about getting blanket, but maybe someone out there has ideas on how to install. I took off trim on dash a bottom of windshield, there are holes cut in the dash for defrost. PS. I do not going 100% original, so don't mind using after market parts or parts off another year or model.
JB59 ,There were two different heaters available in these trucks .One style had a single knob in the dash for control. The "deluxe" model had a control with sliding levers/knobs . The defrost outlets should be the same , I think . I,m talking about the two parts that go just under the dash at the bottom of the windshield. If you need the outlets let me know as I probably have a spare set in my parts stash . If so just pay the shipping & they're yours. As far as the heater , I've heard that 70s model import truck heaters are easily adapted to other vehicles , but have not tried it as I am reluctant to use Jap parts on my projects. Sorry no one responded sooner . Seems some of use get little or no response sometimes.Hope this helps.
What you need is a Deluxe heater assembly. I may have enough stuff left over from my project to put one together, if you are interested, let me know. dunhamfield@teleshare.net
Here is a deluxe heater on e-bay. I paid $250.00 for mine like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8044143700&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
