found a place to get the whole thing for 250.00 seems high to me am I wrong

Reconditioned or just as it was pulled off?
Or is it still on the truck?

For $250 it should be all reconditioned and ready for install, IMO.

that's all used stuff I will have have to recondition it all before I install it I was thinking maybe 150 or so for all of it am I right in thinking that

I'd agree with your $150 price for used parts in need of refurbishing.

You are talking standard and not deluxe, correct? The reason I ask is the deluxe has a lot more parts in regard to the controls. Classic Parts lists the Deluxe Heater Control Assembly at $140

$250 for a complete deluxe set up wouldn't be to bad IF the parts are good. Notice that is one big if

Things to watch for on the deluxe is to get all parts, fan motor condition, heater core ...in question, leaks or plugged, fan resistor is it there does it work, and the control levers in the back of the control panel, if they are broken you can buy new but that just adds to the cost, bent and broken cables......doghouse on the firewall rusted out....? just a few things we have seen. Just so you know we have found out that the same fan motor was usd until about `78, you can get them thru auto zone and orielys for about $25.00
