OK got the heater out of truck. In another post I discussed having a small leak and misting on the windshield. Here is my current issue that I am looking for advice.

    1. The heater in my truck apparently is a recirculation type heater. I am told there were two type recirculation and fresh air. I suspect mine had fresh air as the cowl vents have a rug like material covering them up, probably to prevent drafts.

    2. Our sponsor does not sell the core for the recirculation heater.

So looks like I see the following options

    a. attempt to get core repaired
    b. find core for recirculation somewhere
    c. find fresh air box/core to replace what I have
    d. use the aftermarket one from sponsor, which I have but do not like.

So I am looking for your thoughts/suggestions and any leads on getting new core or replacement heater.

I have attached a few pics of the current heater and core.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Denis, that looks more like a fresh air heater. If it attaches to the passenger side kick panel and draws air thru the louvers on the passenger side, then it is the "deluxe" or fresh air heater. Check out this old thread and figure out if you have one of these heaters. https://talk.classicparts.com/showthread.php?t=11045&highlight=heater

    Thanks

Thanks sure looks like my heater may be a fresh air version. I will investigate more in detail next week. Heading to Vermont for a long weekend in the motor home.

As I said in the original post there is some material on the wall covering the louvers. I assume the fresh air heater to air from these louvers.

Thanks for the pics and post.

Ken your heater looks superb, how did you go about cleaning it up / repainting? I would like to mimic your work.
