hi guys ,what a great forum ,as you can tell i am new here,and i really need some help. i have a 1989 swb,silverado 350 tbi,getrag 5 speed and a 12 bolt rear end,, my question is i want to take out the 5 speed and install a turbo 700(witch i have) i need to know what modifications are necessary if somebody has done this conversion PLEASE HELP ME OUT THANKS A LOT glenn
Your main problem is going to be the TV cable. Check this guy out has has eliminated the TV cable on that tranny http://www.maddogtransmissions.com/ . On my swap I had to shorten the driveshaft, add a TV cable, move the crossmember and install a lock up kit. It was very easy to do.
