Chris,

You didn't say if it is a V8 or 6 cyl.

Check out the wiring diagrams. Remember that the #1 plug is wired to the distributor AFTER the #1 cylinder is at top dead center, or the top of the compression stroke, AND, the rotor is pointing at the #1 plug.

Chris, the firing order on a big block should be the same as a small block Chevy 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
