Hood closing woes

Neither hood on my 65 or 59 fleetside closes properly. New hinges and springs don't seem to solve the problem of the rear of the hood popping up in the back and not seating properly. 59 owners say shimming is the answer. Are they other tricks specifically for the 60-66 I don' know about.

Perhaps these hood alignment instructions from the 1960 Chevy Truck shop manual will help. The actual adjustments are indicated on the 3rd page, but the 1st two have pictures that are referenced along with other information that may be helpful.
