Hello, one new problem. The horn of my truck is always blowing. What can be the reason? If I connect the wire which comes out of the handlebar, the horn beginns always to blow. I made a ground connection from horn to cab. Before I made this connection the horn didn't blow although I push the horn button in the steering wheel. Please have a look how i connected the horn to the relais. Or can it be a damaged horn retainer? The rivets on the back side of the retainer are not too firmly seated. Ask Wolfgang
Horn issue! Wolfgang. It looks like the contact knobs are a bit worn out on the backside. But it could be the adjustment aswell of the ground plate, there is only one position that it will fit under the cover Have a litle copper grease on the side so it will slide in easely. When the plus pole has Direct contact with the side wall of the steering wheel and not cut the electricity Your horn will blow continuesly. The horn top cover in the steering wheel presses the contacts in the bottem plate aside normally , have a checkup on that at that aswell Our host have the replacement parts for your steering Wheel. Martinius.
Okay thanks Martinius, the knob slide easily. Can it be the relais is damaged? so the contacts will melt together? I have make a sevral ground wire from horn to the cab, I think that was wrong. The horn is contacted by ground and a permanent ground wasn't a good idea. If ordered a new relais and a horn retainer.
Horn device. Wolfgang is this a one wire horn incase it is it needs a relay through + . But i noticed there are two wires installed a black one and a brown , what is + and what is - . Are there any marks on the horn + or - ? If you have`nt done it yet have a dead mens switcher installed aswell right on the battery or even better on your cabin wall within the Reach of Your hand. Then your wire system never melt down or engine gets on fire ! Martinius.
Horn Wokri ; Your first photo looks like maybe the power wire is hooked directly to the horn ~ this will cause constant tooting . (it appears to be a one wire horn) A one wire horn uses the relay to provide power to the horn when the horn button is depressed . The two wire (original) horn is connected so one connection has power all the time and the other connection is grounded by the horn relay when the button is pushed .
