sorry about the weird title. i just dont know how to describe it. i have a gm 10-bolt rear end in my 51 p/u and the axel looks like it is shifted forward. i know it is mounted correctly on the leafs. i have seen this in alot of your pics and was curious how you make the wheels look "correct" or centered in the wheel wells? thanks-robert

I believe Gater went through this same agony. I believe what most people do is turn the springs around. This puts the axle back where it looks (or is) more centered in the wheel well. I'm not much of a source, but I know those with more knowledge will set you straight.;)
"They" have given me the courage to offer this advice.:D

thanks for the replys. i have 14" wheels on it now and it just doesnt look right. how big of a difference does it make to have full weight on the truck? i plan to use 17" wheels in the long run. does that big pose a problem in the front? anyone ever dealt with this? anyways thanks again-robert

I just moved my rear fenders forward and drilled new holes. Then welded the original holes closed.
Then cut the running boards to fit.

Yes you do. Or you can take it to a metal shop and they can cut and hem the pieces.

Here is what my truck looked like before moving my fenders forward.

This was the day we picked up the empty shell of a truck. ( I'm in the hat)
