My 57 GMC has 9 leafs in the front and 10 in the rear and is way to firm and high for my needs.

My question is How many of the leaf can I safely remove? I would like to just keep the longest 4 leafs but want to be sure its safe before I do something dangerous.

removing leafs effects spring rate. and will make rear soft and the front way to stiff.and removing rear leafs will also transfer weight to he back.and this is a truck and not a racecar.maybe changing the spring pirchs so rear can sit on top of the springs may help lower the rear ride height but may have to drop the front so the front height will match the rear.
    good luck
